Charity dog tags are to replace wristbands as this year's fashionable way to support good causes.
The Samaritans has been the first to launch fundraising dog tags - in the style of the metal identification chains worn by soldiers - to promote its awareness day and its 24-hour phone service.
The charity decided on its latest campaign after consulting with fashion industry insiders, who predicted that this summer's "hot item" would be dog tags.
The funny thing is lots of people want to find the wedding of fashion and charity in our society, but certainly don’t.
For me fashion is about to make money while charity is to raise money, why bothering to make the two as one.
The dog tags are a really good idea, however, is it really for charity or some kind of stunts?
After the we chuan earthquake, many street-fashion brands made their own item to support the people who are suffering including CLOT, Anyhow, Subcrew and many more. They designed new tees and hats, in the name of charity, selling them with a higher than before prize. Does it make any sense to any of you? At least it doesn’t for me.
The fashion and charity phenomenon, in my point of view, is due to the 2 following reasons.
One is that people are becoming civilized so they want to take part in some kind of charity activities to feel noble, and the daily fashion stuff is one of the easiest ways to achieve this goal.
The other reason is that the combination of fashion and charity can make a lot of money.
Anyways even I don’t quite get it; the new forming market is a very talented idea, which provides people both mental and economical profits.
